L’Oréal Australia increases support for working parents through partnership with Circle In

The decision to take parental leave can be daunting for employees, but through a new partnership with Circle In, L’Oréal Australia is supporting all employees during this important time in their lives.

L’Oréal Australia is proud to be a founding partner with Circle In to harness our collective power by providing a full support program for all of our working parents. It covers key topics such as how to tell your manager you’re pregnant or anticipating the arrival of a child to the importance of a parental leave plan and why it is important to stay connected.

Circle In is an Australian company committed to supporting working parents as they move through the parental leave journey and ultimately return to work. Launched in October 2017 by co-founders Jodi Geddes and Kate Pollard, Circle In is the go-to destination for parental leave career support, filling an identified gap in the resources available to parents and employers.

Companies such as L’Oréal can now provide their employees with a unique ‘stay in touch program’ that provides employees with nine key features, including a customised portal, manager toolkit, data and insights and real stories.

The program which is now available to all of our employees focuses on Control - understanding entitlements and actively preparing for and managing the parental leave journey, Connectedness - staying connected to proactively maintain important relationships and Care taking care of mental health while juggling parenthood and work.

“We understand that transitioning back to work for new parents can be very stressful and hence it is the greatest reason many don’t return to work at all, or only return for a short time. This is why we believe it is essential to support returning parents through partner programs such as Circle In. Circle In gives access to practical information from managing the process of going on parental leave to offering support and connection back into the business while a parent is on leave, to finally providing encouragement to re-join the workforce when the time is right,” says Amber Kristof, Director of HR L’Oréal Australia & New Zealand.

The Circle In program is the latest addition that aims to make L’Oréal Australia a workplace where all employees can thrive. Over the past few years, the company has made a number of changes in this space including increased flexible work arrangements and 14 weeks Carers Leave for both men and women.

In addition, L’Oréal Australia was proud to announce in 2016 that for the first time, their Executive Committee was majority female.

Rodrigo Pizarro, Managing Director L’Oréal Australia & New Zealand says of the Circle In program, “L’Oréal Australia is committed to ensuring new parents are given every opportunity to stay connected with the business while they are on parental leave. The Circle In program is helping L’Oréal Australia ensure that all members of our team feel that they can balance being parents and be active members of our business even while they are away from the business.

It is part of my role within L’Oréal Australia, as well as a parent of four children, to ensure I run a smart modern business. I know partnering with Circle In will lead to better staff engagement and retention which in turn will have benefits for the wider community. L’Oréal Australia strives to be a thought-leader within Australian business, and we are continually assessing how we can improve our internal practices to retain our valued employees.”
