Charles

HR Manager, France

After studying Business with a major in HR, I got an HR master degree whilst being an apprentice in the Training Department at L’Oréal’s Luxury Products Division. I then joined the group as a Deputy HRD at the Garnier plant in Aulnay-sous-bois. At the age of 26, I’m now HR Manager for Consumer Products Division in France.

The main missions in my job are:

- As an HR Manager, I take care of 150 staff working in different departments ranging from IT to the Advertising Media Buying Unit. My duties include general HR management, such as supporting co-workers in all stages of their careers within the company and applying the Group’s HR policies.

- I also have the role of Deputy HR Director for the Consumer Products Division France, which implies preparing files affecting the Division’s different entities in France. My role here is to facilitate flow of information amongst the different parties involved (in-house and externally) and to follow-up ongoing files for the Director to help with decision-making processes.

When I go to work every morning at L’Oréal, what I appreciate the most is the diversity of people I meet daily, plus the wide range of tasks I work on simultaneously, on so many different subjects. In fact, what I like best is that days are never the same!
L’Oréal encourages its staff to express themselves, and it’s a company that places trust in its juniors. Every day, I am given the opportunity to take part in important projects which really interest me. What is so enriching in my HR work today is being able to help develop my co-workers’ talents, while at the same time being closely involved with our Business.

About tomorrow? I hope I will continue to be involved in a diverse range of missions and have such rewarding contacts with so many interesting people!
